Classic Articles

The articles below provide a sample of some of British Wildlife’s early articles on woodlands and their management. These have now become standard texts on the subject and also reflect changing attitudes to woodland management in the 1990s.

Also on this page is a downloadable pdf of the Special Issue of British Wildlife (Naturalistic grazing and re-wilding in Britain - Perspectives from the past and future directions) that was published in June 2009 through sponsorship from the British Ecological Society and Natural England. It contains a series of important articles from a range of experts, including Frans Vera, on the re-wilding and naturalistic grazing debate in the UK and beyond. This issue is now sold out as a printed copy.
