Reserve Focus - Cley and Salthouse Marshes, Norfolk

By - Bob Gibbons

The north Norfolk coast is one of the most remarkable areas for the naturalist in Britain. The concentration of nature reserves and protected sites along the coast is quite exceptional, and the amount to see, whether for the casual visitor or serious naturalist, is tremendous. The 25 miles (40km) or so of coast between the end of the chalk cliffs at Hunstanton and their reappearance ot Sheringham has virtually all the protective designations it could have, except for that of National Park.
