"It was a beautiful day of the kind that we occasionally get towards the end of winter and which persuades us that spring is in the air. There was not a hint of cloud or wind and the soft light and mirror surface of the water of the old gravel pits in teh Fen Drayton Lakes reserve made for ideal viewing conditions. I was particularly hoping to see Bearded Tits but, of course, I didn't. I had to make do with some half-hearted courtship by Great Crested Grebes."
