The Hobby, Falco subbuteo, is an exciting small falcon, a summer migrant and the least-known of the British breeding raptors. It appears to have substantially increased in numbers and greatly expanded its breeding range in Britain in recent years, but neither its precise status nor the reasons for expansion are clear.
