Twitcher in the Swamp
"The Forestry Commission has been behaving rather oddly lately. In a recent Sunday Telegraph, Matt Ridley reports that it refused to allow the planting of beech at a place where beech has grown for hundreds of years on the grounds that it is 'not native' to that part of England. In another dramatic move, the Commission urges the public to slaughter any grey squirrels that might fall into our hands. Mr Ron Melville is organising a Grey Squirrel Control Group to crack down on non-native squirrels."
