The Millenium Seed Bank Project

The Kew Seed Bank, located at Wakehurst Place in Sussex, has been in existence since 1974 and holds the largest and most diverse collection of wild-origin seeds in the world. More than 10,000 samples of seed from over 4,000 species are stored at low temperatures and can be kept alive under these conditions for decades or even centuries to come.
