Besides being a generalist wildlife enthusiast, Hugh Raven is responsible for running his family’s business at Ardtornish, where he lives. He’s an environmental grant-maker, as chair of the John Ellerman Foundation. He’s a director of Crown Estate Scotland and Corrour Estate, and chairs the Environmental Funders’ Network, the Marine Conservation Society, the West Highland Coastal Trust, and the Open Seas Trust.

Hugh writes regularly for British Wildlife in his biannual column, letter from Caledonia.
