Frequently asked questions
How many issues will I receive each year and when will I receive them?
From October 2020, British Wildlife will be published eight times per year (in October, November, December, February, April, May, June and August).
The first issue of each volume is published in October. After you have subscribed, you will begin receiving the magazine from the next issue available onwards.
When will my direct debit be taken?
If your subscription is by direct debit, payment will be taken annually with the first issue of your subscription. This will renew automatically each year, unless you choose to cancel your subscription.
Notification of any changes to the direct debit will be printed on the cover sheet of the last issue of your current subscription.
How do I renew my subscription?
If your subscription is a one-off (paid by cheque or card, rather than direct debit), it will not renew automatically, and you will be required to renew it each year if you wish to continue receiving
the magazine. A subscription renewal form will be enclosed with the final issue of your subscription.
How can I change my address?
What if I cancel mid-subscription?
Cancellations are accepted mid-subscription. We cannot refund the balance of the subscription, but you will continue to receive the magazine until the subscription has lapsed.
How do I order a back issue, binder or index?
If you wish to purchase a back issue, binder or index, please email or phone our subscriptions department to check availability.
Back issues are £6.50 each. Classroom sets (six or more copies of the same issue for use by teachers or nature study groups) are available at a further discount – please contact us for more information.
Binder and index sets can be purchased through the British Wildlife shop page, here.
Is the magazine available in digital format?
British Wildlife is not currently available in a digital format. but this is something that we are investigating.
I have extra/unwanted copies of the magazine, what should I do with them?
We are unable to buy back copies of the magazine, but we encourage you to pass them on to fellow wildlife enthusiasts. Alternatively, it may be worth contacting a local library/conservation organisation
to ask if they would be interested in receiving your back issues.
