Identification – Britain’s Frogs and Toads

Many naturalists become acquainted with frogs and toads (collectively termed anurans) in their childhood, yet it is surprising that the three native species are often mistakenly identified. This situation has been compounded by the introduction of a number fo foreign species. Frogs and toads are fascinating animals and, despite the limited diversity of the British fauna, the study of their behaviour and ecology has much to offer the naturalist.
