Comment: Future directions in agriculture policy and nature conservation

This year's outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the UK has catapulted concerns about the wider effects of the agricultural sector up the political agenda. This, in turn, has produced a flurry of reports and position statements from a wide range of organisations, and further reports are expected in the coming months, particularly from the new Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
