Habitat management news

A new assessment methodology for deadwood habitat has been developed by ecological consultants Dr David Hubble and David Hurst. Assessing deadwood is often considered an expensive luxury and therefore rarely undertaken, despite its being known to be of key importance in woodland ecosystems. In many UK sites the amount and type of deadwood is poor and could benefit from targeted management, or little is known about it.
