Twitcher in the Swamp

A month or two ago I was standing in a dark corridor in the bowels of the Natural History Museum, waiting to be interviewed for some job or other. It was a long and silent vigil, the public having deserted those parts for the more immediate pleasures of the clockwork roaring dinosaurs downstairs. I was alone, but for a large glass case of rather faded and moth-eaten kangaroos.
