‘For five shillings this duck can be yours‘ – a history of the Orielton Decoy

Five shillings a duck, this was the price in the 1950s for a duck from the Orielton Decoy situated some two-and-half miles south-west of Pembroke, in south-west Wales. One hastens to say that this was not a duck to be eaten, but simply sponsorship for the ducks caught by the West Wales Field Society that were to be ringed and released.
