The National Dormouse Monitoring Programme – 21 years of bags and boxes

The National Dormouse Monitoring Programme (NDMP), possibly the longest-running terrestrial-mammal monitoring programme in the world, celebrated its 21st birthday this year. The NDMP forms the core of the conservation efforts for the Hazel Dormouse Muscardinus avellanarius in Britain, providing data on its distribution and population trends and so contributing to the UK Biodiversity Action Plan.
