Reflections on a tern colony – The Long Nanny Little Tern colony over 30 years

The Long Nanny sand spit is located in Beadnell Bay on the Northumberland coast, roughly midway between Seahouses and Craster. Beadnell Bay is approximately 5km long and at low tide contains a huge expanse of sand, which dries quickly on this exposed coast.
