Twitcher in the Swamp

"In the past 20 years, a large number of small or little-known beaties and plants have been protected on the grounds that collecting might conceivably harm their prospects. It is not that anyone is actually collecting them (give or take a few butterflies and moths). It is more that the law says that they might possibly be harmed by it if they did. Which they almost certainly wouldn't be."
