The long-term view

As British Wildlife begins its second quarter-century, the author considers the possible future that lies ahead, and whether conservationists are up for the challenge.

The problem with making predictions about wildlife and conservation is that it is not so much a test of knowledge as one of temperament. Or even mood. I mean, are you a rainforest-halfdestroyed sort of a person? Or do you think the rainforest is half-saved?
