Centenaries, masting and speed: Topics from Nature’s Calendar/UK Phenology Network

In 2014, there was a flurry of activity to commemorate the beginning of the First World War a century earlier. For example, the Woodland Trust is establishing centenary woods, one in each of the four countries of the United Kingdom. Perhaps it is also time, therefore, to look back at the phenology of a century ago.
