Controlling Pacific Oyster within MPAs. A recently published Conservation Evidence paper reports on the viability of using volunteers to control the spread of poplations of wild Pacific Oysters Crassostrea gigas within the intertidal zones of a Marine Protected Area (MPA). A native of north-east Asia, the Pacific Oyster has been extensively cultivated as a means of supporting shellfish industries where native oysters have declined."
