"Twitcher has been taking another look at Latin names. A hard, stern look, as befits the times. There are rules about these things, and one of them is that the names should not offend anybody. There are names out there, often on our very doorstep, that would get you 'no-platformed' at any university, and perhaps even have you branded on social media as something you would very much not like to be. it is high time these foul names were outed, and, once again, it is British Wildlife that steps forward to perform this salutary task."
