I hope that it was recently, but as I travel around the country I sense a large and growing disenchantment with the ambition and effectiveness of these NGOs. If there ever was a time when the UK’s wildlife needed a vibrant and effective wildlife conservation movement to mobilise their memberships, enthuse the public and thereby challenge the Establishment, then it is now. But it just isn’t happening. Why not?"
