Reducing the impacts of deer browsing on Caledonian Scots Pine. Mar Lodge NNR, in the Cairngorms National Park, supports a nationally significant proportion of the UK’s seminatural Caledonian pinewoods. The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) has in recent years trialled a number of interventions at the Mar Lodge Estate, testing techniques which could promote the natural regeneration of native Scots Pine Pinus sylvestris.
