Beam Brook Field Station, near Newdigate, in Surrey, is known to many who study the reptiles and amphibians of Britain. During the course of the 20th century, it became nationally renowned as an establishment that sold fish, reptiles and amphibians, from Europe and farther afield, to the public and scientific institutions alike.
