Time to stop vilifying the urban Fox

The urban Fox has a bad reputation. Many of us are familiar with the myths and misinformation surrounding this species, such as its apparent boldness or inclination to attack pets. Using a clear understanding of their ecology and behaviour, Stephen Harris rebuts these myths and discusses our coexistence with the urban Fox.

When I started studying foxes in the 1960s, hunting books and anecdotes were the main source of information, but in the last half-century the Fox Vulpes vulpes has become one of the best-studied British mammals.
