Illustrated Identification Guides to Insects – A Review

The illustrated guide, whether to birds, flowers or insects, has become a major part of the modern naturalist's armoury. They are carried almost everywhere, in the car, rucksack, or jacket pocket. Indeed, for the general naturalist, especially if entering unknown territory, the number of books that have to be carried can be daunting. When one starts to look at insects, the problems become greater than ever.
