Through a naturalist’s eyes

What is the secret of the Blackbird's success? As I write this, broods are leaving their nests and squawking fledglings are recieving meals from overworked parents. Meanwhile, other adults are bickering over boundaries or building new nests. The garden is full of Blackbirds, but I see only a lone Song Thrush or Mistle Thrush once in a while.
