Identification – Vagrant Emperors

Recent years have seen a great increase in the number of people looking out for rare dragonflies. This, comined with some exceptional summer weather, have produced some remarkable sightings. Two larger species of interest are the Vagrant Emperor and the Lesser Emperor. This extract from the forthcoming Field Guide Dragonflies and Damselflies of Great Britain and Ireland, describes these two exciting insects.
