“I hear of rum goings-on at Loe Bar in Cornwall, where a mysterious group of German spiritualists has been creating trouble by sitting on the beach and staring out to sea. ‘We don’t fully understand what’s driving them,’ complained a Mr Clotworthy of the National Trust, who own the site. Instead of answering Mr Clotworthy’s questions, the Germans had just quoted from the Bible. The police were called in to remove them, a scuffle ensued in which a Mrs Muller, aged 67, was charged with assulting an officer and several others arrested.”
