Natural Reflections

“After years of hopeful searching, this was my first Western Bee-fly Bombylius canescens. Watching it patrol the cliff face like a robotic sallow catkin, on the hunt for solitary bee burrows, I couldn’t help but wonder why some flies do this to me.” 

Brett Westwood ponders the mysterious quality that compels him to search for a favourite target species.
