Reserve Focus – Derbyshire Dales National Nature Reserve

Between Buxton and Bakewell, in the Peak District National Park, lies an area of wonderful upland limestone scenery, known collectively as the White Peak. The area is seamed with limestone gorges or dales, some dry and some with rivers, and five of the best of these dales are protected as the Derbyshire Dales NNR – Lathkill, Cressbrook, Monks, biggin and Long/Gratton dales.
