The conservation history of the Barberry Carpet Moth Pareulype berberata began in 1970, when the only known surviving British population of this previously widespread insect was threatened by a road-building scheme. Over the years, there has been a variety of efforts to safeguard this particular Suffolk population, including the creation of a new site and several establishment attempts using individuals bred in captivity for the purpose.
