"It is hard to understand Mr Prescott's reasons for deciding to cover the countryside with advertisement hoardings. It may be that he wants farmers to make a little on the side, but thie Government has shown no other signs of sympathy for the plight of small farmers. Perhaps he hopes that the vast placards will conceal the horrible new housing estates he is building on what is left of the countryside."
