The ecology of the Pearl-bordered Fritillary in woodland

Few insects are as quintessential to spring woodland as is the Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterfly Boloria euphrosyne, yet we are in danger of losing it from our woods. Its decline has been both rapid and spectacular, and has yet to be arrested, let alone reversed.
