Life after low flow – ecological recovery of the River Misbourne

A succession of drought years in the 1990s led to widespread concern over the effects of low flows in many of the UK's rivers. In response, the National Rivers Authority (now the Environment Agency) published a list of the top 40 low-flow rivers in England and Wales.
