Habitat management news

A recent paper reports on the effectiveness of enhancing the floral diversity of grassland. Two methods, hay-spreading and brush-harvesting, were studied, using lowland hay-meadow and chalk-grassland donor sites. In addition, the effects of timing and rate of application, and interactions with pre-application disturbance of the sward through power-harrowing and turf-stripping were investigated.
