Buglife has recently launched a new guide entitled Managing Aggregates Sites for Invertebrates – a best practice guide. This publication aims to highlight the contribution made by the aggregates industry to invertebrate conservation, and to help site and estates managers, minerals planners, ecological consultants and others to make the most of the opportunities that aggregate sites present for wildlife, with a focus on invertebrates. Recommendations are provided on maximising the potential for wildlife of site-restoration schemes and allowing space for wildlife within active sites.
