Hengistbury Head and Christchurch Harbour – long-term studies and the local community

Hengistbury Head Local Nature Reserve is a promontory east of the conurbation of Bournemouth, in Dorset, owned and managed by Bournemouth Borough Council. It is a surprising public open place of great natural beauty, is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and is included in the Christchurch Harbour Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its wildlife and geology.
