Through a naturalist’s eyes

"The Water Shrew is an enigmatic animal. It is not often seen – in fact, I have seen only two in my life! This is in part because it is most active at night. My second sighting, not so long ago, was rather a surprise. The shrew was on a patch of mown grass beside a river bank. It took me a moment to reliase what I was looking at."
