The Mole Cricket – rare native or regular import?

'Jarr-bob', 'jarr-worm' and 'eve-churr' are evocative names for one of our more elusive and mysterious insects. These are just some of the old local names for the Mole Cricket Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa and relate to the almost melodious song of the male. It is our largest and, until recently, our least-studied and least-understood orthopteran.
