Twitcher in the Swamp

"Was there mass rekoicing in the Badger setts of Ramsbury when Owen Paterson bit the dust – or, to be more strictly accurate, when he hit the backbenches? Did offset newts and Skylarks dance in the ponds and meadows? Did bumblebees, stricken with deadly 'neonic' pesticides, give a brave V-sign from their sickbeds? As Winston Churchill said in May 1945, 'we may allow ourselves a brief period of rejoicing'.
