“Over the last few winters, with a book on urban invertebrates in mind, I’ve considered graveyard exploration. We know that these can be valuable sites for such wildlife as birds, butterflies and lichens, but, perhaps understandably, there is limited publicity about their importance for less glamorous fauna.”
