Charles Snell 1944–2022
Charles Snell was an ‘old school’ herpetologist. He had a difficult, impoverished childhood, having lost his father to tuberculosis when very young. Treatment for the same illness sent Charles to an open-air sanatorium, and it was here that his passion for natural history was sparked.
