Letter from Caledonia

“Please believe me. Because wildfire, for the rewilding movement, is the dog that hasn’t barked.”

Drawing on the largest wildfire recorded in the UK which began as two small fires started separately in the Cairngorm mountains NNE of Aviemore which burned over 10,000 ha, Hugh Raven decries an apparent lack of attention, research and investment in preventing wildfires undertaken by major rewilding projects.
