"One of the more obscure books sitting on my shelves in the 1902 volume of Nature Notes, the Selborne Society's Magazine. One section in each issue is 'Natural history notes and gqeries', which consists of members' observations and questions. Many of them cover the same 'common or garden' subjects as those on which I get letters today: albino Blackbirds, birds tapping windows, hedgehogs waking during the winter – but there are some nice examples of how the world has changed over the last 90 years."
