Two old, large Spindle trees Euonymus europaeus in my neighbours' gardens harboured colonies of Kidney-spot Ladybirds Chilocorus renipustlatus. The ladybirds had been present for at least three years and were to be seen throughout the year, suggesting a stable relationship with their prey, mainly scale insects.
